I am new to sequencing. First of all: WOW! Great job on the new sequencer. I dont have any experience with other sequencers and I am still in process to understand your new concept. I love your dedication to it. I was decided to buy full version of LSP but based on tutorials it looked really clumsy how it handles pixels. I checked your HLS at the start of the year but the lack of visual preview turned me back to LSP. But, since you incorporated PreView functionality to the HLS you forced me to give it a shot again. I know there is still long way to go, but we might help you to make it better.
I am in process of sequencing my Mega Tree using Nutcracker. I love your ability to adjust some of the Nutcrackers properties and see it visually right away.
Here are some of my hopefully small requests which would make using HLS easier for us:
1. When I have preview window open to test the sequence and try to adjust the Nutcracker effect in Modify Pixel Plane Effect or move/adjust the effect in the black grid. I always have to
- close the Preview window,
- check back again the Display Preview check box,
- hit the play button again to see the changes
Would it be possible to keep track if I made any change to the effect settings or black grid. Keep the preview button checked and if the preview button is checked just reopen the preview window again upon clicking "Play"/"Play From Mark"? ( Without displaying the annoying warning with the Ghosting elimination stuff and forcing me click on it. Users dont need to know that, since you force restore by reopening the window again which fixes the problem.) That would make our life easier. :)
2. I am using 2 monitors and every time the Preview window reopens, it always reopens at the left top corner of HLS and covers all play buttons. Then I have to move it every time I do another preview to be able access the play buttons.
Would it be possible that the Preview window remembers its position on the screen(s) for the next reopening?
3. Would it be possible in the Modify PixelPlane Effect to switch the speed check boxes to a slider with ability to speed up or slow down an effect? Lets say make scale from -10 to 10. Of course 0 would be the regular speed. I dont know the mathematical limitations of this functionality. Thats your area. :blush:
I have spent hours today to adjust an effect speed to my music in the Nutcracker but its a clumsy way to do it. Your speed functionality would help a lot in that case and save us enormous amount of time.
