Your Recommendations for Mega Tree - Pixel Strings or Pixel Strips?

I am really wanting to add a Pixel Mega Tree for this year, in addition to my current display (more or less). A lot of you had beautiful Pixel Trees this year and I'm sure have learned a lot about them, and I would like to pick your brains.
I'm thinking of an 180 degree tree, in the neighborhood of 16-18' tall. I am starting to get a grasp of the equipment needed, and have already ordered a couple of e682 kits and an e1.31 Bridge. I still need to order Pixels and am looking for your recommendations. I have seen where some folks use Pixel Strings, some use Pixel Modules, and some use Strips. I have also seen recommends for using higher (12) bit Pixels. I plan on implementing some scrolling text (if I can ever learn the software) so I'm thinking that more is better............ So, couple of questions: (keeping price somewhat reasonable)

What is your recommendation for the best Pixel style to use? Strip, String or Module.

What is your recommendation for the best actual Pixel to use? (i.e. 2801, 2811, 3001, etc.)

Would it be wise to pull the trigger now, or wait to see what happens with new products and pricing?
